Official JetBrains sales FAQ, re-read 13 Sep 2026: 'Students and teachers can get the JetBrains Student or Teacher Pack for free' and 'educational licenses can't be used for commercial work'. The page says student licenses expire but not how long they last or how they renew, so the earlier '1 year, renewable' term was removed.

What you get
JetBrains gives students and teachers its Student or Teacher Pack for free, including IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, ReSharper and all its other IDEs and .NET tools. Educational licenses cannot be used for commercial work. Students also get a 40% graduation discount on a personal subscription, valid for two years after the student license expires.
